He attended Florida and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2018, before joining the Chicago Bears the following year.
Pieiro was born to a Cuban father and a Nicaraguan mother in Miami, Florida. His father, Eddy Sr., arrived to the United States from Cuba when he was nine years old during the 1980 Mariel boatlift and later played professional soccer for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the ASL/APSL.
Pieiro, like his father, began his soccer career as a four-time All-Dade County selection.
Despite having only played soccer his entire life, he joined the Miami Sunset Senior High football team in his senior year, handling extra points and kickoffs.
