Aubrey Drake Graham, better known by his stage name Drake, was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on October 24, 1986.
His role as Jimmy Brooks in the CTV adolescent drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation, which ran from 2001 to 2008, helped him gain notoriety.
Following his acting career, Drake decided to pursue a career in music. In 2006, he released his debut mixtape, Room for Improvement. Before joining Young Money Entertainment, he released the mixtapes Comeback Season the next year and So Far Gone the following year.
Where did Drake go to college and high school? Did Drake go to film school?
Drake began attending Forest Hill Collegiate Institute in Toronto as a freshman in high school before transferring to Vaughan Road Academy, another Toronto high school.
He decided to leave school to focus on his acting career.
An agent contacted Drake when he was 15 years old for a role in Degrassi: The Next Generation. He portrayed the role of Jimmy Brooks, a basketball player who was shot by a classmate and subsequently paralysed.
Drake reportedly found this character journey to be forced and didn’t appreciate it. Before they changed the plot, he had to threaten to sue them in order to get them to do the correct thing.
