After Sorensen went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs signed him to a two-year, $930,000 deal on May 11, 2014.
Sorensen claimed he had calls and offers from other clubs after going undrafted, but he ultimately decided to accept the Chiefs’ offer because they made it clear they really wanted him by having head coach Andy Reid call him.
On March 29, 2021, Sorensen extended his contract with the Chiefs. After Tyrann Mathieu and Juan Thornhill, he started the season as the third safety.
He made 12 starts out of his 17 games played, compiling 51 tackles, one sack, eight passes deflected, and two interceptions.
