McCoy played football for coach Mack Brown’s Texas Longhorns squad from 2005 through 2009 while he was a student at the University of Texas at Austin.
He participated in collegiate football at Texas, where as a senior in 2009, he received a number of accolades and trophies.
Kellen Moore of Boise State is McCoy’s closest competitor all-time in terms of games won by an NCAA Division I FBS quarterback. In the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Cleveland Browns.
He has also played for the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, and San Francisco 49ers, largely as a backup quarterback.
