Robinson, a native of West Monroe, Louisiana, attended West Monroe High School and was twice named to the first team of the 5A All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
West Monroe had a 9-3 record during his senior year and lost to Central in the LHSAA Class 5A state finals round two. Robinson was awarded an All-American by USA Today and Parade following the season.
