Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury DBE was an Irish-British and American actress and vocalist who lived from October 16, 1925, to October 11, 2022.
She portrayed a variety of parts in cinema, on stage, and on television throughout the course of a career spanning eight decades. Although she lived much of her life in the United States, her art garnered recognition on a global scale and several accolades.

Angela attended South Hampstead High School from 1934 to 1939. Nevertheless, she regarded herself to be primarily self-educated, having learned from plays, films, and literature.
After her father passed away from stomach cancer when Lansbury was nine, she withdrew into creating characters as a coping strategy. Due to her mother’s financial struggles, Leckie Forbes, a Scottish colonel, proposed to her, and the two moved into his Hampstead home.
