He was selected by the Vikings in the third round, 102nd overall, of the 2019 NFL Draft after playing college football for Boise State.
In his true freshman year at Boise State in 2016, Mattison played in all 13 games and rushed for 328 yards and four touchdowns on 67 attempts.
He participated in all 14 games as a sophomore, rushing for 1,086 yards on 212 attempts and scoring 12 touchdowns.
He rushed for 1,415 yards on 302 attempts with 17 touchdowns in 13 games as a junior in 2018. After rushing for 200 yards and a score in the 2018 Mountain West Conference Football Championship Game, he was named the game’s offensive MVP.
