Canadian director James Francis Cameron CC was born on August 16, 1954.
He originally came to prominence for writing and directing The Terminator, a science fiction and epic movie (1984). Aliens (1986), The Abyss (1989), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), and the action comedy True Lies helped Cameron continue to enjoy success (1994). In addition, he co-wrote and directed the films Titanic (1997) and Avatar (2009). He won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Film Editing for Titanic.
