What religion is Emma Thompson? Is Emma Thompson an atheist?
Emma stated in an interview which confirms she is an Atheist: “Despite being an atheist myself, I think it’s crucial to have a spiritual life. In terms of the global religions that exist, I am an atheist since I have witnessed their long-standing oppression of countless numbers of women. Therefore, I see the history of women’s exploitation in religion.”
She also added “But I am a feminist first and foremost. I support equal rights for men and women. Any society that consistently oppresses women, in my opinion, is one that I cannot sympathise with.”
“There is far more nuance involved in the life-and-death, religion-versus-science debate that is shown in the movie.”
