Velus Tyler Phillip Jones Jr., a wide receiver and return specialist for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League, was born on May 11, 1997.  He transferred from USC to Tennessee after playing college football there.

Jones, a four-star recruit, committed to play collegiate football for USC. He eventually withdrew his commitment, made a brief commitment to play for Oklahoma, and then renewed his commitment to play for USC.
