Richard Treat Williams, an American actor, writer, and pilot, was born on December 1, 1951.

He has over 120 credits in theatre, film, and television. He first rose to fame as the lead in the 1979 musical movie Hair, and he later appeared in Prince of the City, Once Upon a Time in America, The Late Shift, and 127 Hours. He served as the show’s protagonist from 2002 to 2006 and received two Screen Actors Guild nominations for his performance. Three Golden Globe Awards, two Satellite Awards, and an Independent Spirit Award are among the other nominations he has received.
