English cricketer and journalist Robin Geoffrey Marlar was born on 2 January 1931 and passed away on 30 September 2022. He attended Harrow School and Magdalene College in Cambridge for his education.

Marlar competed in first-class cricket for Sussex from 1951 to 1968 as well as Cambridge University, where he won blues in 1951, 1952, and 1953 (when he led Cambridge to a victory over Oxford). His personal best was 9/46 against Lancashire at Hove in 1955.
