Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, a French actress, was born on April 25, 1963. She is the offspring of actor Philippe Leroy-Beaulieu and model Francoise Laurent.

She was raised in Italy and, against the advice of her parents, travelled to Paris at the age of 16 to pursue a career in play. Actor Philippe Leroy-Beaulieu, her father, tried his hardest to dissuade her from pursuing an acting career, but he was unsuccessful.

In 1983’s Surprise Party, directed by Roger Vadim, she made her movie debut after performing on stage. She played the distressed mother in Trois Hommes et un couffin in 1985, her first significant cinema performance, for which she was nominated for a César Award for Most Promising Actress (Three Men and a Cradle).
