Baltimore, Maryland, was the birthplace of Peter Mark Kendall. In 1985, his parents left South Africa together with his three older siblings.
He was raised in the city’s outskirts suburb of Towson. He obtained a BA in Theatre and Jazz Studies from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College). The Brown University/Trinity Rep Program afterwards awarded him an MFA in acting.
