Barbaro and her sister Eve were born to their parents Nick Barbaro their father and Heidi Wagner their mother in San Francisco. The two grew up in Mill Valley, California. Barbaro started dancing at an early age and would go on to study ballet. While taking electives in acting, she completed a degree in dance at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City.
