Johnny Knoxville may be known for his death-defying stunts on screen, but off-screen, he’s just a dad to his kids Madison, Rocko, and Arlo.
The stuntman became a father in 1996 when he welcomed his first daughter, Madison, with his then-wife Melanie Lynn Clapp. Over a decade later, in 2009, Knoxville and his second wife, Naomi Nelson, welcomed son Rocko into the family. Two years after that, their daughter Arlo was born.
Through his journey as a parent, Knoxville has found immense joy and fulfillment. He shared with PEOPLE in April 2024, “I don’t know if there’s a greater thing. It’s a responsibility and it’s hard, but it’s great. I love being a parent.”
Knoxville is very protective of his children and is constantly concerned about their safety. On a podcast appearance in 2022, he admitted to being a “helicopter parent” when it comes to ensuring their well-being.
Despite his own adventurous career path, Knoxville has made it clear that he doesn’t want his kids to follow in his footsteps. He told LADbible in 2022, “They’re not going to follow in my footsteps. They’re going to go to school and use their brain for something other than a test dummy.”
Madison, Rocko, and Arlo have each carved out their own paths. Madison, now 28, has been seen helping out on her dad’s movie sets and working in the entertainment industry. Rocko, 14, has shown talent in baseball and shares a special bond with his father. Arlo, 12, has inherited her dad’s sense of humor and enjoys playful moments with him.
The Knoxville clan seems to be thriving, with each child bringing their own unique personality and interests to the mix.
