Maya is the daughter of actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, who split up in 2005.
During the podcast, Maya reflected on the idea of a “dream situation” following her parents’ divorce, mentioning the film Parent Trap as an example. She recalled the challenges of dealing with transition days, packing bags, and saying goodbye on Sundays, highlighting the difficulties of having divorced parents.
Maya also shared a poignant moment with her father Ethan, 53, when she wanted to attend a party instead of spending a weekend with him. She emphasized the importance of building friendships and making every weekend special, despite the shared custody arrangement.
The talented duo recently collaborated on the movie Wildcat, set to be released in select theaters on May 3. Additionally, Maya is gearing up to drop her new album Chaos Angel on May 31.
