Luis Quinones dies: Cause of death revealed
He died barely five days after sustaining a head injury during a knockout loss in Colombia.
“Cuadrilatero Boxing greatly laments the passing of Luis Quinones, an amazing human being, disciplined, and who always demonstrated the greatest passion for this sport,” Quinones’ promoters said in a statement released on Friday.
“We would want to thank the personnel of the General Clinic of the North, who did everything they could to take care of Luis during this difficult period.”
Munoz, his sparring partner, is shocked by his death, saying he never imagined “a fantasy could turn into a true nightmare.”
Quinones was inspired by Julio Cesar Chavez and moved away from his birthplace of Barrancabermeja to pursue a career as a professional boxer. In 2018, he made his debut.
