Lee Cohen dies: Cause of death revealed

After a protracted illness, veteran film and television literary agent Lee Stuart Cohen (also known as “The Hammer” and “The Moose”) passed away quietly at home on October 8 in the morning. He was 78.

In the early 1970s, Cohen started his work in the storied mailroom of the William Morris Agency.

He later went on to become a successful motion picture and television agent renowned for finding new talent and for advocating for his clients with steadfast loyalty, enthusiasm, and passion.

Cohen completed his career at Paradigm after spending a long time at WMA, where he held positions managing TV and film lit.

Lee died peacefully at his home on the morning of October 8 after a long illness.  The actual illness is yet to be confirmed.

Over the years, Cohen has represented prominent writers including Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah, who wrote such comedic blockbusters as Legally Blonde, 10 Things I Hate About You, and She’s The Man, as well as Tom Gammill and Max Pross, known for their work on Seinfeld and The Simpsons.
