Washington, DC’s suburbs are where Lauren grew up. Because of her wanderings around Rock Creek Park, the wild grass in her backyard, and her mother’s love of mud pies, she had a close link with the urban environment.
Brooklyn Bound Writing Workshops was an organization that Lauren co-founded, ran, and taught at from 1994 to 1998. She has also provided writing instruction at events hosted by Warren Wilson, Polytechnic University, the Penn Writer’s Conference, and other organizations.
