Watson was undrafted in 1998 and signed as a free agent with the Chargers and spent part of the season on their practice squad. He was then allocated to the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe.
He played college football at Penn and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
