Jonathan Rhys Meyers is an Irish actor, model, and singer who was born on July 27, 1977.
He is well-known for his roles in the motion pictures Michael Collins (1996), Velvet Goldmine (1998), Titus (1999), Bend It Like Beckham (2002), Alexander (2004), Match Point (2005), and Mission: Impossible III (2006) as well as his television performances as King Henry VIII in the historical drama The Tudors (2007–10) and Elvis Presley in the biographical miniseries Elvis (2005), for which he won two Golden Globe Awards and received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
He also appeared in a History Channel production as Bishop Heahmund, a role based on the Catholic Saint of the same name.

Meyers was born to Geraldine (née Myers; 1957-2007) and John O’Keeffe in Dublin, Ireland. He was raised in County Cork.
He went to the Christian Brothers School at North Monastery.
Jonathan spent a lot of time working and hanging out in pool halls after getting dismissed from North Monastery for absenteeism. He was discovered by casting directors looking for Irish youths to play in War of the Buttons while playing pool.
