John Robert Hekker (born February 8, 1990) is an American football punter for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers (NFL).

He attended Oregon State and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the St. Louis Rams in 2012.

On a fake field goal against the Seattle Seahawks two weeks later, Hekker threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Danny Amendola.

He became the first Rams punter since the AFL-NFL merger to throw a touchdown pass.
