Scottish actor James McAvoy was born on April 21, 1979. He made his acting debut in The Near Room as a teenager in 1995, and up until 2003, when his feature film career started, he largely starred on television.
He is most known for his work on the drama State of Play, the science fiction miniseries Children of Dune, and the BAFTA-winning sitcom Shameless on channel 4. (British TV series)
