He was born on February 17, 1992, in Bartlett, Illinois, United States. He is the son of former Miami Dolphins linebacker Eric Kumerow and his mother is called Tammi Kumerow.
Jake has a sister Cortney, who was an All-American basketball player at UW-Whitewater, and a younger brother Derek who currently plays football at Whitewater.
