Illinois’ Deer Park was Sanborn’s home town. After his father, Paul Sanborn, passed away when he was four years old, his mother reared him. The Lake Zurich High School in Lake Zurich, Illinois, was attended by Sanborn.
He racked up 120 tackles and three sacks as a senior and was voted the Pioneer Press Defensive Player of the Year. In three varsity seasons at Lake Zurich, Sanborn has 296 tackles and 13 sacks.
Jack turned down offers from Duke, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Vanderbilt to play collegiate football at Wisconsin, where he was rated as a four-star recruit.
