Tanya had initially grown up in California but was born in New York. She is an accomplished musician with a fine arts degree in film and animation, but she is best known for her work as a cellist and vocalist.
Haden met actor Jack Black when they were students at Crossroads School, a private high school in Santa Monica.
The duo did not begin dating until the spring of 2005 and got married on March 14, 2006, in Big Sur, California. She gave birth to their first son, Samuel on June 10, 2006, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Their second son Thomas was born on May 23, 2008.
