A spokeswoman for the Prime Minister confirmed the sale and that it was for family reasons. She would not comment further.
Bayleys advertising for the property said it was a 1920s four-bedroom bungalow with a modern extension and two bathrooms, on a 643-square-metre section.

Described by the agents as a “bungalow haven with a twist”, the house sits on a 643m squared section and even has a treehouse already built in a large pohutukawa.
It’s in the zone for Balmoral Primary and Intermediate, as well as Mount Albert Grammar and Auckland Girls’ Grammar School.
The listing’s agent refused to talk to NZME about the sale, and said the vendors would not be interested in commenting either.
Locals were however more than happy to comment, saying they were excited for the couple to move in.
