English actor Hugh Richard Bonneville Williams DL was born on November 10, 1963. For his role as Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham, in the ITV period drama series Downton Abbey, he is well known. His work on the program garnered him three Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Golden Globe nomination, and two straight Primetime Emmy nods.
He played the same character again in the motion pictures Downton Abbey (2019) and Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022). Additionally, he had cameos in the Paddington movies, Notting Hill (1999), Iris (2001), and The Monuments Men (2014).

In 1998, Bonneville wed Lucinda “Lulu” Evans. They cohabitate in West Sussex with their son Felix Bonneville.
In 2009, Bonneville played Justice Fosse in Joseph Crilly’s Kitty and Damnation, which had its British debut at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre in Kentish Town for the Giant Olive Theatre Company.
He soon became the first customer of Giant Olive. In addition, Bonneville serves as an ambassador for WaterAid and the patron of the London-based children’s organization Scene & Heard.
Bonneville was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of West Sussex on October 8th, 2019. He received the initials “DL” for Life as a result.
