He frequently makes headlines on both sides of the Atlantic, whether it be for a show he hosted or a comment he made. He is undoubtedly a controversial figure.

How did Piers Morgan get famous?

At The Sun, he started his Fleet Street career in 1988. Rupert Murdoch appointed him editor of the News of the World in 1994 when he was only 29 years old, making him the newspaper’s youngest editor in more than 50 years. Morgan edited the Daily Mirror starting in 1995, but she was fired in 2004. From 2006 to 2007, he served as First News’ editorial director.

He worked as an insurance clerk at Lloyd’s of London for a year after graduating but before deciding to pursue a career in journalism, which the company describes as the “world’s leading insurance market providing specialist insurance services to businesses in over 200 countries and territories” (via CNN).

It’s a far cry from his more recent roles, which of course include his time hosting “Good Morning Britain” in the UK before his departure earlier this year due to his remarks on the Oprah Winfrey interview Prince William and Meghan Markle gave (per the Manchester Evening News), and his work as a columnist for the Daily Mail and Mail On Sunday.
