Henry Franklin Winkler, OBE, is an American actor, comedian, author, executive producer, and director.

In 1976, Winkler met his wife name Stacey Furstman in a Los Angeles clothing boutique. In 1978, two years after the meeting, they were married in the synagogue where Winkler had his bar mitzvah.

Winkler and his wife are blessed with two children namely Max and Zoe. But Jed Weitzman is the child Stacey had from her previous marriage, and was raised by her and her husband.

Winkler was born to his parents Anna Marie his mother and Harry Irving Winkler his father. His father was a businessman. His parents were German Jews living in Berlin during the rise of Nazi Germany.
Winkler’s father decided that it was time to leave Germany in 1939 as a result of the intensifying anti-Jewish sentiment. Henry said: “At the time, my father, Harry, told my mother, Ilse, that we were flying to the United States on a brief business trip,” but after his Uncle Helmut was taken by the Nazis, they decided to stay.
Soon after arriving, his parents settled in New York City, where his father established a new version of his German company, which bought and sold wood.

Winkler is not the only child of his parents. He has an older sister named Beatrice.
