Hayley Sales graduated from the private performing arts school, The Northwest Academy and her family made a big move to an organic blueberry farm on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
In 2003, Sales took part in an acting intensive, organized by Canadian casting director Maureen Webb. This workshop led her to sign with her longtime acting manager, Vickie Petronio.
Within half a year of being on the island, Sales landed a lead role in a teen horror film, Sleepover Nightmare. Making her move to Los Angeles to pursue acting shortly after turning seventeen.
Things did not go as expected, a bout of acid reflux, brought on her by an eating disorder, caused her to lose her voice. And over a year she could barely talk.

Her mother was a dancer and writer, whereas her father Miles Davis was a musician and sound engineer. Her father normally operated a GlassWing Studios out of the upper floor of their Washington D.C home.
She began recording her first major label recording, Spring 2006, “Sunseed.” Her father, Richard Sales, co-produced the album, which they recorded on her parent’s blueberry farm.
