Gabriel Mokake’s theatre appearances include Man 6 / which covers George Washington and Hercules Mulligan / James Madison in Hamilton, Tiny Joe Dixon / which covers Marty in Dreamgirls, and Snake / Storyteller in Children of Eden. He was also Thad in Hairspray, Harker in Dessa Rose, tenor vocalist in the ensemble of Porgy and Bess, Adam / Swing in The Color Purple, and most recently King Agnarr / cover Kristoff in Frozen the Musical.
Mokake is one of the upcoming Tanzanian-born actors and photographers who are widely known for Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (Netflix), which was filmed in Norfolk in 2020. The movie was about an imaginary world that comes to life in a holiday tale of an eccentric toymaker, his adventurous granddaughter, and a magical invention that has the power to change their lives forever. The Tanzanian-born actor and photographer was raised in Norwich and later graduated from The Guildford School of Acting’s three years (BA Hons) Musical Theatre Course.
