Emily Ratajkowski had a great childhood experience with the support and love of her parents. Emily Ratajkowski was born to Kathleen Anne Balgley and John David “J.D.” Ratajkowski. Her parents had different religious beliefs yet they managed to raise her up the way they thought would be right for their child. Her father was raised Roman Catholic, whereas her mother is Jewish.
Both her parents were school teachers but had different vocations. Her father is a painter and art teacher whereas her mother is a writer and a professor of English, and teaches at the San Diego Jewish Academy.
Before Ratajkowski became famous, she had tried soccer, acting, and ballet before modeling. She then got chances to participate in a few local theater productions as a child and young teen, including her exposure to the nude female figure in photography and art during her formative years. She also had the work of her father and the photography of Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts, preparing Ratajkowski for nude work.
Emily Ratajkowski is the only child of her parents and they never made her feel the loneliness of not having siblings.
