Ed Sheeran has shared some exciting updates on his music and family life. The British singer-songwriter, 33, recently revealed in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Gala that he won’t be releasing new music anytime soon.
When asked about his upcoming projects, Sheeran humorously responded, “That I’m working on them and they’re new songs.” However, he clarified that fans shouldn’t expect any new releases this year. He explained, “I released two records on tour last year, and it’s quite a lot being on tour and releasing records. So, I’ve made the new music and I’m just going to sit on it for a bit.”
In addition to his music, Sheeran also opened up about his daughters, Lyra Antarctica, 3, and Jupiter, who was born in May 2022. When asked if his girls are fans of his music, Sheeran shared, “Yeah, of course. Mostly my new songs because I don’t really play my old songs in the house.”
Reflecting on fatherhood, Sheeran previously mentioned that becoming a dad has shifted his lifestyle for the better. “Instead of going to bed at six [a.m.], I’m getting up at four,” he revealed on The Late Late Show with James Corden. “It just feels like what life was meant to be. It’s great. I’m healthier than I’ve ever been. I’m exercising every day … I feel like a human being. It’s good.”
Fans can look forward to new music from Ed Sheeran in the future, but for now, the talented artist is enjoying his time on tour and cherishing precious moments with his family.
