Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is known for his tough exterior and action-packed roles, but he recently showed his softer side during a trip to Target. The 52-year-old actor and former wrestling pro ran into a young fan and instead of just snapping a picture or signing an autograph, the two engaged in a friendly game of rock, paper, scissors.

In a video shared on Johnson’s Instagram, the pair can be seen having an intense rock, paper, scissors showdown in the towel aisle. The young fan challenged Johnson to a match, and the rivalry between the two was evident as they battled it out.

After a round where Johnson emerged victorious by playing “rock,” the young fan took the loss in stride and the star graciously offered a rematch. The duo ended up with four draws in a row before Johnson once again won using “rock,” but the rivalry continued as they faced off in other parts of the store.

Ultimately, the young fan managed to outsmart Johnson by playing “scissors” and claimed a well-deserved victory. The video ended with a GTA-inspired freeze frame and text that read: “Mission passed! Respect +”

In the caption of the Instagram post, Johnson praised the child for his tenacity and hinted at another rematch in the future. He wrote, “Gotta respect this kid’s tenacity — he ain’t taking an L in public from The Final Boss. You know I wasn’t leaving this store without making sure this kid gets his ‘I beat the Rock at Rock, Paper, Scissors’ story. Good job, kid. Payback is coming!!”

When he’s not engaging in friendly competitions at Target, Johnson is a proud father to three daughters: Simone, 22, Jasmine, 8, and Tiana, 6. Reflecting on fatherhood in 2023, Johnson shared with PEOPLE, “I’ve reached a point in my life where I can create my own schedule, which has really been nice, because it wasn’t always that way, and I’m really lucky. It allows me to get closer to the girls.”
