Drake parents: Meet Sandi Graham, Dennis Graham
Drake’s father Dennis is an African-American who worked as a drummer for the famous American country musician, Jerry Lewis. His mother, a Canadian worked as a florist and a school teacher.
When Drake was five years old, his parents separated. Dennis, his father, spent a considerable amount of time behind bars for drug-related offenses.
Drake has written songs depicting the kind of tough childhood he had due to a largely absentee father. His father however came out later on to debunk all of his son’s claims.
According to him, he grossly embellished some of the things he put across in his tracks to sell more records.
