Burns defeated world No. 1, Scottie Scheffler, in a playoff on May 29, 2022, and went on to win the Charles Schwab Challenge with a 38-foot birdie putt. Burns tied Nick Price’s victory at Colonial Country Club in 1994 for the largest comeback in a final round when he erased a seven-stroke deficit to win.
