Hounsou, a Beninese-American actor, and model was born in Cotonou, Benin, to parents Albertine and Pierre Hounsou. Hounsou had appearances in the music videos for “Express Yourself” by Madonna, “Love Will Never Do (Without You),” and “Straight Up” by Paula Abdul between 1989 and 1991. He also makes an appearance in the “Hold On” music video by En Vogue.

Djimon Hounsou recently shared his reaction to 10-year-old son Kenzo Lee Hounsou whom he shares with an ex, Kimora Lee Simmons being called the N-word by a peer. Kenzo is Housou’s only child. “I went to pick up my son from a soccer game one time and he says to me some other kid called him the N-word.
Hounsou and Simmons, 44, are currently in a legal battle over Kenzo, with the “Blood Diamond” star requesting joint custody from the Baby Phat founder last August. In an interview with TMZ, Hounsou claimed Simmons purposefully kept Kenzo from him last Father’s Day and she has accused him of being an absentee dad.
