Hank Thompson, a country music star, later made her his discovery, and with his assistance, she was able to sign a recording deal with Decca Records in 1954. Jackson’s debut successful single at Decca was the country ballad “You Can’t Have My Love.” The next year, she started her joint tour with Elvis Presley.
