Brown is married to his long-time girlfriend name Tayla Main. The high school sweethearts had been dating since 2014. In March 2022, the couple married at Chateau Elan, a winery, and resort in north Georgia. Brown lost ten pounds for his marriage as he did not want to look bulky in his wedding suit.
But, the wedding ceremony was private with just close friends and family. Brown couldn’t go on honeymoon travel as he had to return to training after their wedding ceremony. Brown says his honeymoon is pending, and he plans to go next year.

However, Derrick’s parents had no idea until high school. Derrick approached them and told them he wanted to make a career out of football. He had already reached heights in football, and his parents fully supported his decision. Since then they have been their son’s backbone.

Brown has only one sibling. Kameron Brown is his younger brother. Kameron has also followed in his brother’s footsteps. He currently plays football at Auburn University. He committed to Auburn Tigers as an inside linebacker in 2019.
Kameron also attended Lanier High School as his brother and played for their high school team. Kameron played in the field with his brother once in a while when he was a freshman, and Brown was already a senior. In addition, Kameron aspires to play in NFL one day like his brother.
