The Bears released Houston-Carson on September 2, after which he was added to the practice squad. On September 19, he was elevated to the active roster.
On March 29, 2019, the Bears re-signed him to a one-year contract after he became a free agency following the 2018 campaign. Houston-Carson participated in every game of the 2019 campaign, and his six special teams tackles were the third-most on the squad.
