Danny Kalb, who was born in Mt. Vernon, New York, started his career as a solo performer and session guitarist, collaborating with artists like Judy Collins, Phil Ochs, and Bob Dylan on recordings and live performances.
It is quite interesting to note that when Kalb was 15 years old, he started the group Gay Notes, and in 1961, they appeared in a concert aired on WBAI-FM together. With his mentor Dave Van Ronk, Kalb took the stage with the Ragtime Jug Stompers in 1963.
