Charles Fuller, a pioneering playwright best known for his timeless drama( A Soldier’s Play), which received the Pulitzer Prize in 1982, passed away on Monday(October 3) in Toronto.
His wife Claire Prieto-Fuller confirmed his death to the media.

According to credible sources Charles Fuller died from natural causes. He made his sudden departure at the age of 83.
Fuller leaves behind his wife, son David, daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, according to sources.
David Alan Grier, who played the lead role in the 2020 Broadway production of A Soldier’s Play and also made an appearance in the 1984 film adaption A Soldier’s Story, remarked, (It has been my greatest honor to recite his words on both stage and movie.” His brilliance will be missed.
Fuller, who was born on March 5, 1939, in Philadelphia, attended Villanova University before joining the army in 1958 and serving for four years in Japan and South Korea.
After leaving the army, he formed the Afro-American Theatre of Philadelphia, started writing for it, and served as its co-director until relocating to New York in 1970.
