American actress Catherine Ann Keener was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Hialeah. She is the daughter of shop owner James Keener and Evelyn Keener (Jamiel).
Her father is English, Scottish, and German, while her mother is Lebanese. Keener attended Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
