Brian Doyle-Murray was born to an Irish-American family on Halloween Day 1945 at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. He is one of nine children born to Irish Catholic parents Lucille who is a mailroom clerk, and Edward Joseph Murray II who is also a lumber salesman. He attended Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, California in the late 1960s.
Doyle-Murray began acting in the 1970s with The Second Stage comedy stage troupe and also made regular appearances on The National Lampoon Radio Hour Show from 1973 to 1975. He appeared in various films during the 1980s, many with his younger brother, Bill, including Caddyshack, Scrooged, and Ghostbusters II. He also appeared in other well know films during this time, such as Sixteen Candles, National Lampoon’s Vacation, and The Razor’s Edge.

They were all born to born to an Irish-American family and grew up in an Irish Catholic home. Their paternal grandfather was from County Cork, while their maternal ancestors were from County Galway. His sister Nancy Murray is an Adrian Dominican nun in Michigan; she has traveled the United States in two one-woman programs, portraying Catherine of Siena and Dorothy Stang. His brother Edward Murray was a businessman before his death in 2020. Peggy Crane also passed away in 2020.
Laura Murray is currently 70 years old and was born on May 21, 1952, in Evanston, Illinois, United States. And Andy Murray is also currently 66 years who was born on April 5, 1956, in Evanston, Illinois, United States. He is a chef and runs the Murray Brothers “Caddyshack” restaurant located in the World Golf Village resort near St. Augustine, Florida.
