It is deeply saddening to learn of the demise of Robert Arrigo, the mayor of Sliema, who was a former deputy leader of the Nationalist Party, at the age of 67.
He was most recognized for serving as the Nationalist party’s MP and previous vice leader. Prior to his election as an MP in 2003, Robert Arrigo reportedly held the positions of president of a football club and mayor of Sliema.

Following Robert Arrigo’s passing, Facebook and Twitter were flooded with condolences. Nevertheless, PN leader Bernard Grech honoured the late MP Robert Arrigo for his sacrifices on behalf of the group.
“We lost one of our own,” Bernard Grech continued, “and you will be remembered for the good work you did, the loyalty you showed the party, and above all, for the love, you had for this country.”
