American voice actor Robert DeWayne Papenbrook lived from September 18, 1955, through March 17, 2006.
He was known as “Pappy” by his fellow voice performers. In the worlds of anime and video games, he was well-known for his voice acting of “gruff” characters. But his live-action voiceover work, most notably for the Power Rangers series, made him particularly well-recognised.

He was found by the directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, who then gave him his first voice acting part in the blockbuster Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), providing the voices for all of the Hovito tribesmen that follow Indiana Jones at the opening of the movie. His most well-known performances included Rito Revolto, Power Rangers Zeo, Shadowborg, Scorpix, and Deviot in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Big Bad Beetleborgs, and Beetleborgs Metallix.
