According to reliable sources, Bill Plante, a longtime CBS White House correspondent who served the network in a variety of capacities for more than 50 years, passed away on Wednesday (September 28). At the age of 88, he made his tragic exit.
His passing has generated a lot of discussion on social media platforms and has also been the subject of numerous memorials.

As a correspondent and assignment editor, Plante started working for CBS News in New York in June 1964. He had an interview with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. while he was on his historic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, in March 1965.
According to his surviving wife, Robin Smith Bill Plante died as a result of respiratory failure which left him battling for days before he gave up.
Also at his death, he has two biological children. Dan Plante and Michael Plante his surviving two sons.
