Kim Petras is a German singer and songwriter who presently resides in Los Angeles, California.
She was born on August 27, 1992. Between 2016 and 2020, she recorded music as a solo artist under her own label, BunHead Records, until signing with Amigo and Republic Records in 2021.

Petras made an appearance on a talk show and in a documentary at the age of 14 to advocate for the possibility of early sex reassignment surgery at 16, which is under Germany’s legal minimum age requirement of 18.
Petras received permission from Dr Bernd Meyenburg, head of the mental health unit at Frankfurt Hospital, before having gender confirmation surgery at the age of 16.
The effective completion of the treatment was announced by Petras in November 2008. The Daily Telegraph claims that Petras was the youngest patient ever to have such surgery because she underwent it at a young age.
